Bottle tree leaves State Fair of Texas

The Bottle Tree Mission - "capture and contain evil spirits".

Rockin A Artists' Elizabeth Bingham and Lynn Reagan created a Super Bottle Tree for the 2013 State Fair of Texas' Friends of Lottie Sculpture Garden.  The Super Bottle Tree stood sentry over the garden protecting the sculptures and fair goers from evil spirits.

Now appearing live in the Sculpture Capital of Texas, the bottle tree sculpture spends its days enticing evil spirits in Jewett, Texas.  Captured in Super Bottle Tree's bottles, the spirits can not escape to wreak havoc onto other sculptures and artists.

Barbara Dybala's "Hug A Bear" at the State Fair of Texas

"Hug A Bear", Barbara Dybala's huggable mosaic bear sculpture in the Friends of Lottie Sculpture Garden at the State Fair of Texas has a secret we are revealing.

Hug A Bear is a portal.  Of course your travel begins with a hug.  Visit foreign lands, past civilizations and future dreams.  A Hug A Bear hug zooms you to your destination.  Amazing!

Rebecca Low's Timber II at the State Fair of Texas

Rebecca Low's sculpture Timber II, stands tall in the Friends of Lottie Sculpture Garden at this year's State Fair of Texas, waiting for a fair goer to take him home.  Timber II is the perfect accent for your garden.  Unbeknownst to most, Timber II's personality encourages all sorts of growth in the garden.

I have grown an inch just hanging around Timber II in the sculpture garden.

Whirling Faces sculpture at the State Fair of Texas

Gustavo Galvan's "Atlas" at the State Fair of Texas

With the world on his shoulders, Gustavo Galvan's "Atlas" stands out in the Friends of Lottie Sculpture Garden at the State Fair of Texas.  Have the world in your back yard - remember all the sculptures are for sale.  The State Fair of Texas run through October 20.

As a side note, Gustavo is the engineer/builder of the ten "Lottie Pop Pinwheels by Gustavo" located throughout the Fair.

White Rock Lake Artists' Studio Tour

The 21st annual White Rock Lake Artists' Studio Tour is Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Over 50 artists and 5 art centers will open doors to unique studios, exhibits and learning environments. Meet local artists and see art in a variety of media and all stages of creation.  This free self guided tour is in the White Rock Lake  neighborhoods.
